Mother of white puppies, Kara, Part III.

When did I feel some nice cool air for the last time? Has the summer already started without any rainy season?
I heard news about some torrential rain. Is everything ok with you?

Oops, again and again, I forget to introduce myself early – I’m Kara. How have you been?
I visited the city area yesterday, so I felt it was much hotter than it is in Nose.
Why the city area? Because, I joined an adoption event that some of my daughters have joined before.
I was totally ok in the car on my way back to ARK although on the way to the venue, I was a bit nervous because it’d been a while since I had taken a drive for the last time.
Now, please let me tell you how the event went about.

This is Frantz, one of the 34 dogs from the mountain.
It was my first time meeting one of these dogs. He was cute, and I was happy about it.

He usually barks when we pass by his kennel. However, he was calm and enjoyed being petted all day yesterday. We never knew he loved to be petted. He is such a sweet boy.
A young girl kept petting him and did things like this, but he never got upset.
He seemed to be nervous when he walked outside, but I think he will be a sweet family dog.

Yesterday, Pooka, one of Frantz’s relatives, visited the venue. Two months have passed since she was adopted. She seemed to be more confident than she was in Nose. I was moved by the change that had occurred. Love from her family must be just great…
I think Pooka enjoyed meeting dogs from Nose again. She kissed everyone!
I hope the other members can meet their own family one day.

This smiling boy is Monja.
He is full of juvenescence and it took him a while to settle…

He got excited alone, he got exhausted alone, and finally, he just slept so deeply that no one could wake him up.
He is physically big, but actually not mentally. I can understand that because he was raised by an old couple so he didn’t have many chances to experience new things.
CIMG8505.jpg CIMG8508.jpg

But, look, the smiling boy sleeps with a smile on his face. As the proverb goes, “Laugh and grow”.
He will definitely bring a lot of smiles and laughter if you adopt him!

And there was a dog loving calmness: Kisaburo.
He was annoyed by Monja’s excitement and energy and stood against the wall like this.

He is 14 years old and so adorable that everyone in the ARK staff loves him.
More than that, some “fans” visited him all the way to Kobe.

He spent the day sleeping in people’s arms.
Unfortunately, no one asked him as a new member of their family that day, but let’s hope that we gets his chance next time!

Two kittens also joined the event: Wabisuke and Tomuro. They are siblings.
They were tiny and adorable!
They were so adorable that I couldn’t stop myself saying “hi” to Wabisuke.
He punched me but was still adorable…

People say that cats are normally scared in a new environment.
That may be a different story when it comes to kittens.
They didn’t care where they were at all. They played with each other, and slept together.
Unfortunately, again, no one asked them yesterday but I guess they liked these kittens, but hesitated because they were still very young. You don’t have to hesitate. Please come and talk to our staff!

So, I quite enjoyed my first adoption event yesterday.
I was happy staying in a different place from Nose. I had some bites of Monja’s food and had the opportunity to greet Koyume-chan. Koyume-chan was adopted from ARK by one of the GREENDOG staff.

By the way, the ARK staff was surprised when I quite nicely walked outside, where it was totally a new place for me.
I don’t understand why they were surprised. I went through a lot of stuff in the past!
Of course, I didn’t have any accident inside.
Some people said that I might leave ARK in the near future.
Did anyone asked me to come with them?
As the proverb goes, “Sleep and wait for good luck”.

This year’s “kittens are everywhere at ARK☆” is…

As it has happened in the past years, we are already in a “kittens are everywhere at ARK☆” situation this year again.

The first kittens, with various patterns and colors born of a feral cat, were named after varieties of camellia.
They looked like this on Apr. 15th when they joined ARK.
(Their mother was totally a feral cat in her nature so she was Trapped, Neutered, and Released (TNR)).

After 2 months, they have become bigger and are expressing their own individualities now.
Wabisuke (left) is the only boy. He is so slow (in an adorable way, of course) that you definitely will be full of the strong desire to take care of him.
Meanwhile, Tomuro (right) was the only kitten which was wary of people first. However, she then turned into a friendly kitten. She is such a beautiful kitten, isn’t she?

This furry tricolor kitten is Achi (right), the most beautiful kitten among her siblings. She is a tricolor cat, which means that she is curious and loves to play with toys.
The orange tabby on the left is Wabisuke.

Shisen (left), another tricolor girl, loves toys, too! She always focuses 100 % on a toy to get it.
The orange tabby on the right is Wabisuke, again.

This is Madoi. She must think that she is the youngest thus the sweetest one among her siblings. You’ll soon find out that she always behaves at her own pace like this; she was the only kitten looking away while the others were crazy about a toy!

Anyway, they look super-cute whatever they do and whenever it is.
Now they are 2.5 to 3 months old. They will be spayed or neutered very soon and become available for potential adopters.
Of course, you can come to see them now and take them home after surgery.
Please come and see the one for you!

*The following was added on Jun. 18th:*
Now they all are vaccinated, spayed/ neutered, and micro-chipped. In other words, they are ready to go home now!
Please go through the following URL before coming to ARK.

Mother of white puppies, Kara, Part II.

The rainy season has finally started…
I heard it is heavily raining in the Kanto area. Is everything ok with you?
In Nose, there was a huge number of black butterflies recently, maybe because it was really hot as if it was the middle of summer.
I’m quite relieved when the heat is tempered a bit by the rain.

Oops, again, I didn’t introduce myself – I’m Kara. It’s been a while since I wrote the last entry of this blog.
Two months have already passed since then.
Many things have happened during these months.

First of all, one of my roommates, Yukimi, found her own home.
It wasn’t a surprise at all to me because she was really a good girl.
At ARK, I felt pity for her since the condition of her skin was bad, and she felt itchy all around. Spending time at her new home, her skin condition is getting much better. The power of love can do such a great thing!
She enjoys staying at home like this; now she doesn’t have the collar anymore.

The next thing was about Hanna, a basset hound who shared the kennel with us for a short time. She was adopted right after she joined ARK.
She actually had a tumor which might not be a good one, but she didn’t care and stayed happy. That’s why she met a bright family and was liked and adopted by them.
You may think the way she sleeps is weird, though I am really happy for her as she seems to be happy.

The biggest news is that one of my daughters, Hara, finally got her own home!
I was totally relieved to hear that.
There is one more thing about her; she was adopted together with a handsome boy, Shiitake
Both of them cannot enjoy life when they are alone (without any dog company) with people, but they are happy being with people when they are together. That’s their story, being members of a big family.
They say now the two dogs enjoy walking on the beach every day like this.
Hara was named anew; she is Ribbon now. What a perfect name for her♪
I wish you a happy life, Ribbon, my sweetheart. That’s the biggest wish from your mother to you.

I had a lot on my mind about her and now she’s with her forever-family; it would be my turn to find my own now.
Whether they realized it or not, 2 families visited me recently.
Unfortunately, they didn’t pick me in the end, though I am hoping that I will find my own family.

“You are talking too much about yourself”

Oops, sorry, Ox.
These are Ox and Josie, my current roommates.

Ox was found chained to a utility pole one day, because his former owner came to the point where that was the only choice they had for some random reason.
He is happy with both people and dogs. I don’t know if I should say this but he is indeed a great dog. He is still waiting for a new home, just because he is big and a senior.
I wish him to find a wonderful home before the hot summer comes.

Josie is adorable; she loves to cuddle and is attached to me very much.
One thing about her is that she pampers herself a bit.
She kept barking when Ox joined us for the first time, maybe because she was scared of the first male dog she encountered in the kennel. However, she invited him to play after a while.
She must be a type of dog who wants to be a cute little girl forever.
I also wish her a loving home.

It’s now the rainy season but it doesn’t rain every day so please come see us.
I’m looking forward to seeing you.
